Youth and family services in El Dorado County

For over 50 years, New Morning has provided a safety net of services to youth and their families in El Dorado County.

New Morning can help:

  • Provide a safe place to talk about what you are feeling and explore what is happening in your life.
  • Give support when your relationships with family or friends seem unhealthy, hurtful, or out of control.
  • Generate confidence when you feel bad about yourself or feel isolated from your friends, family, and community.
  • Explore options when you need help with alcohol or drug prevention or rehabilitation.
  • Promote empowerment when depression and anxiety become unbearable.
  • Provide alternatives when you think suicide is a way out of life’s problems.
  • Or offer safe shelter when you are thinking of running away.

We provide food, clothing, and shelter to runaway and homeless children as well as children and youth who are detained by the court. Reaching out to abused and neglected children, we offer residential and professional support and services to children.

New Morning Youth and Family Services (NMYFS) has been serving the community of El Dorado County for over 50 years. Initially created by a group of concerned citizens who saw many youth experimenting with illicit drugs, NMYFS has evolved into a full service behavioral health/child welfare organization.

With dedicated workers who are passionate about changing lives, New Morning has a long standing reputation in the community to help the underserved and unserved populations of El Dorado County. Our programs include: Latino Outreach, Foster Youth Launch, and Summer Employment Internships.
