DONALD P. SACCO
Donald P. Sacco has served on the New Morning Board since March 2014. In his professional life, Don provides consulting services to healthcare organizations as well as to companies that provide products and services to the health industry.
His services focus on issues related to industry trends, strategic direction, market position, relationship management, and product development. He has consulted with insurance companies, pharmacy benefits managers, software companies that specialize in healthcare, and medical device startups. Mr. Sacco was a national leader in the formation of consumer-directed healthcare products and services. He wrote several articles on the advent of consumerism and how the insurance industry could capitalize on the trend.
Mr. Sacco became the CEO of Active Diagnostics, Inc., a Sacramento based medical services company and within two years, positioned it for acquisition. He is the retired CEO of Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oregon. He was a co-founder and executive vice president of the Regence Group, and affiliation of several Blues plans in the Northwest. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the Blues system including ten years as CEO of a Washington based Blue Shield plan. Mr. Sacco was a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Board of Directors and a long term member of its Policy and Legislation Committee.
Before his work with the Blues, he worked on Medicaid issues and managed clinics for the indigent.
He has served on over 15 national and local Boards which include for-profit corporations, non-profit service organizations, and a public entity.
Mr. Sacco earned a Master's Degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
