In my free time, you can find me camping, out on the water in a kayak or paddle board, and playing my guitar, ukulele, and bass.

Director of Behavioral Health Services

Karen Cook, LMFT

Karen Cook is the Director of Behavioral Health Services at New Morning Youth & Family Services.  She received her Master’s Degree in Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University.  She has provided mental health care in private practice, public schools, and for active-duty Marines. Her passion has always been working with at-risk youth. After many years of providing direct care to patient-clients, she shifts focus to the management side of therapy and helps to shape the next generation of therapists who share in the passion for serving the local community.

Karen grew up on the east coast but has been a resident of El Dorado County since 2003. She is a mom, and grandma, and has happy-go-lucky pup who loves working at the New Morning clinic to greet clients and families. In Karen’s free time, you can find her camping, out on the water in a kayak or paddle board, and playing her guitar, ukulele, and bass.
